AboutMenuGalleryContact Thelma’s Sports Nook was named after Leonard’s mother – Thelma. This year (2012) she would have been 104 years old. We will be having a special celebration every year on her birthday. We thought it would be very fitting to name the new establishment after her. Thelma’s Sports Nook is mirrored after a very special place to the Grandy family – a place called “Pockets.”  
           
 

We enjoyed many hours of watching our favorite teams there. We wanted the people of Sharpsville to get that same opportunity. As for Jimmy Joe – we needed a mascot! Since all the sport teams will be on the many televisions, we didn’t want to be partil to one team over another. Therefore, we picked the groundhog. This little critter is very prevalent in “our neck of the woods.” We named him Jimmy Joe after a very special family friend. We hope that Jimmy Joe will become the number one most famous groundhog in Pennsylvania!!
